It's been a while since I last wrote here... so a little update on what's going on... The Democrats have won the elections!!! Yes!! Now they have the control of the Senate and the House!! Ok, I do know that there is no big difference between Democrats and Republicans, but still, I am trying this optimist thing, so don't put me down... plus, Donald Rumsfeld had resigned!! Wouldn't it be great if George and Condoleeza followed his example? (sigh)
On a less political sphere, I am taking the GRE (the exam to go to Grad School in the US) the 6th of December, so every day I study at least two hours for it, yikes. And then I have all my other coursework and my TA work and my tutorials and my writing and my attempt at life. So right now I'm in overload status.
Thinking kind of seriously about organizing a national campaign for a new and improved health plan... basically because they don't have one. They made us pay $1800 for the stupid medical insurance and then it doesn't cover anything. Today my doc told me that probably in December I will reach the limit of money that insurance pays for my medicine... which really surprises me, since I have to pay $25 every time I collect my medication. But he told me that when they stop paying for it it will be closer to $350. What???? I don't understand. I think they just want me to sue them or become really nasty... they don't do nice here.
Back to the positive tone, I really like Mount Holyoke (except the Health Center grrrrr). I know I have complained a lot about being isolated, but now that I have this studying discipline things are much better. The weather is kind of depressing, grey, rainy, cold... But from time to time we get sunny days and everything is beautiful and amazing. Also, I'm writing a lot. Not only for my Creative Memoir class, but also poetry. So I am happy... Creative gymnastics.

There is a mystery
in lonely hours -
a desire of heaven
printed in our bones.
Not fully awake
we wonder -
drowned in a river of dryness.
We know no questions
worthy of an answer.
Alone - tonight - the Moon
and us - traveling to silence
weary of the waves of life.
